Untuckable.com's Charity Donation Program

What we love most about Untuckable.com is our charitable giving program: whenever you place an order we send 10% of our profits to a charity you select. We wanted options so you can find something you're passionate about, but we didn't want any one charity to get "lost in the crowd." We’ve been pretty happy sponsoring around ten:

America's Second Harvest

America's Second Harvest is an organization that provides food for millions of hungry Americans, including nine million children, in communities across the nation. Due to the state of the economy as of late, more and more people are being forced to turn to food banks to avoid hunger. America’s Second Harvest supports food pantries, soup kitchens, and directly provides food to those in need. By supporting America’s Second Harvest, you’re providing American men, women, and children with the most important ingredient for survival: food.

NYRA

The National Youth Rights Association (NYRA) defends the civil and human rights of young people in the United States, battling against age discrimination and working to change laws that they feel unduly restrict the rights of the young. NYRA pursues change by raising awareness of youth issues, educating people about youth rights, working with public officials, and empowering young people to work on their own behalf. NYRA believes that people should be “not judged by their birth date, but by the content of their character.”

United Service Organization

The USO is a private, non-governmental organization founded in 1941, with a mission to support America's troops: from the battlefields of WW2 to our current war in Iraq. The USO improves the spirits of our men and women in uniform by providing them with special amenities: including care packages, phone cards, and celebrity entertainment. They also establish centers located near battle zones to provide relief from the strain of combat. The USO offers a way for you to support our troops, whether or not you support the wars they have been sent to fight.

The Grameen Foundation

The Grameen Foundation actively fights against global poverty with a widespread system of micro-loans. These loans allow some of the world's poorest people, many of them women, to build small sustainable businesses through collateral-free financing. The system is constantly expanding, as each loan is extended to another person in need as soon as it is paid back. For the past three years, the Grameen Foundation has been awarded the Fast Company Social Capitalist Award, based in part on its far reaching social impact and the sustainability of its business model.

The Red Cross and Red Crescent

The American Red Cross (and their partner organization Red Crescent) works every day to do one thing: “relieve and prevent people from suffering.” To give to the Red Cross is to give relief to those who truly need it in the wake of wars, natural disasters, famines, and droughts. The Red Cross provides support both in American Communities and around the world, following the philosophy of “providing help equally to all who need it.”

Magen David Adom

Magen David Adom was founded in 1930 to provide “emergency medical care and humanitarian assistance in Israel.” MDA has had a healthy, collaborative relationship with American Red Cross for over 70 years, and the two organizations formally pledged their support to each other in 2002. Among many other efforts, brave members of MDA put their lives on the line recently to help civilians facing terrorist attacks in the cities of Sderot and Jerusalem.

The National Cervical Cancer Public Education Campaign

The National Cervical Cancer Public Education Campaign is fully committed to the goal of “Eliminating Cervical Cancer!” Led by the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) and supported by more than 30 national organizations, they seek to engage and inform the public about prevention, early detection, and quality treatment of cervical cancer. The National Cervical Cancer public education campaign is also actively promoting awareness of and fighting against the HPV epidemic.

Child's Play

Child's Play has given thousands upon thousands of gifts to sick children, bringing the joy of video games to those most in need. Video games may seem like an odd charitable gift, but to sick children in hospitals they can bring joy and entertainment in a time of great stress and suffering. Child's Play is a truly remarkable charity, using less than 3% of their budget for administrative overhead.

Students for a Free Tibet

Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) is a chapter-based network of young people and activists around the world, all working in solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle for independence. Through education, grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action, SFT makes its mission loud and clear: To bring about Tibet’s fundamental right to political freedom. Recently they launched a campaign to find an athlete to stand up for Tibet’s independence at the Beijing Olympic games.

The National Resource Defense Council

The National Resource Defense Council has proven to be one of America's most effective and versatile environmental action groups. Through a combination of grassroots activism and legal action, the NRDC works to combat a myriad of issues, including global warming, oil dependency, and the destruction of wilderness areas. Unless you’re leaving the planet then the NRDC pertains to you; whether they’re promoting clean air in cities, helping protect your children from the hazards of lead, or standing up against sonar usage that threatens aquatic animals, the NRDC seeks a healthy environment for all life on earth.
